Cool, this is truly an exciting innovation, can't wait for the commercial appliance to see what people think about it, is it useful or just a flop :)

Hmm, I am honestly excited! I've been dreaming about this sort of thing since I saw the Matrix :). A virtual reality game played by thoughts. It's about time someone found a way to do it!

Do you think this could be a step by society to introduce them to the realm of PK? I mean, although the machine will read the thoughts and transfer them into action... the brain will think it's doing all the work... I guess it is some sort of training right? If not, then a starting point of the "Mind over matter" way of thinking.

Very interesting invention, I just hope it works well and is worth the 400$... I might just have to wait for a freind to get it and test it out first :P

I first saw a demonstration of it somewhere, and it's now on youtube here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxMux4uEkLI

A nice demo of the device interface between a person and a machine in action.

So, seems to be an amplifier.

One key point being that it's prepared to recognize most people patterns of
brain activity, and as we all know, most people nowadays don't use their
psychokinetic/telekinetic abilities.

So, its useful for gaming... and, well, in my opinion I would say that it's
as useful as the first joysticks when they where developed.

People get used to it and convince their friends.

And if they like it they will buy it and the product will be absorbed by the
market and established it.

I'm sure it will help anyone with the concept of having and improving the
control of their own mind.

If it will help everyone to develop their Psichokinetic/Telepathic
abilities, that's a whole other story.

Once again, my opinion is no, because people will associate it to the act of
playing games, nothing more. And if they think about moving things like
that, they will instantly discard every other option and by habit think
immediately about their favorite TV game that they control like that.

They will want it in order to play games faster and easier than they do
currently... leaving them even more absorbed in the wrong kind of thing.

that's all.

Don't get me wrong, some will surely pursue Psichokinesis/Telepathy, by
thinking:

"Well, if it works in the game, I guess I won't loose anything if I try to
move things outside of the game too."

But that means what, 3-5%? (I would say that's being optimistic)

But understand that if this device becomes notorious by those extra
unadvertised telepathic features features (considering that they end up
being noticed), SOMEONE will want to put a stop to it because it might not
be very profitable to have people finding out that they don't need every
kind of apparel to move things like fork lifters, wheel carts, etc.

Do you

Can you for a moment consider what that would represent in the amount of
lost sales, if people started considering the advantages and disadvantages of
buying a fork lifter that only serves for the task of moving objects around
versus adding in the job hiring brochures the sentence "Telekinetic
abilities required" and hiring folks that not only move the stuff around
like the fork lifters do, but are also fully qualified to do any task that
any other employee does already, at no extra cost?

You could always compensate by increasing the price of the devices and
making them more difficult for the masses to have access to, but like
everything in the computer hardware industry, the prices tendency would be
to go down not up, obviously working against that purpose.

Now, this last part was a ridiculous rambling, but it's worth considering
because for more ridiculous that I and many people here might consider it to
be, unfortunately it's not that far from the truth.

Brain reading software">

This article is really interesting. They can pull an image from your brain using learning software and mri technology. I am interested in discussing the implications of this with anyone interested.

Worrisome, if it can read thoughts..... maybe it can implant them as well. I think I am getting enough of that already from the rapidly flashing lights in movies. How do you program the bios on your pc? Flash.

OMG, I have just looked on the Internet about that star wars trainer,  that has got to be a very valuable device for improving concentration and PK development. With such visible results for encouragement.
I know what I want for christmas!!
It looks like the toy theme is continuing I feel like I am returning back to my childhood,
Thanks for the intro Shirak.

The mind lamp seems pretty cool. If it really does work, it would give me feedback on when my intention is working and help me focus on that pattern of thought.
These are interesting toys :) pretty expensive ones too. Being a broke college student I'm going to use natural and home made toys for my practice.
Oh I bought my radiometer recently. It should be arriving here by tomorrow. I can't wait to get some statis field training going and put up a new video smile

Yeah, those lamps look pretty cool. It would be nice if there were open-source alternatives with full schematics and software available somewhere..

I've been fancying one of those headsets that can be used instead of mouse and keyboard. Practicing pk instead of every keystroke and mouseclick would be cool. I'm broke too .. until I manage to hit a lottery jackpot with micro-pk.

smile Radiometer is cool, but it seems like it still takes some time until I can effectively stop it on demand for a video. Practicing on other stuff for some time and keeping myself from affecting the radiometer passively without proper control.

Hey man, you don't have to put yourself under pressure for perfect videos. Most of what I can do on videos is much less than what I can do in regular life, but it doesn't matter. For me the videos help to reinforce an objective PK reality. This is something that a lot of people seem to miss. Even though it's cool when everyone likes your vids; the real benefit, is that they can help you to improve, by solidifying a psionic self image:)

Thats very true, Owltwelve,  it does put you off filming a vid it does me.  That last stasis vid is on a very low speed at the start,  normally on speed 2 Iam ok with it but in the vid I found it quite difficult to stop any wheels on speed 2 because I was consious of filming it I suppose.
Vids are quite handy for pasive training I think.  As I have had my new radiometer for a couple of weeks, I still havn't been able to stop it for some reason.  Last night  the turbine did start jumping about though,  and I have been re watching yours and my vid and tonight its still going round but very slow, so hopefully a stop will occur soon.
It does motivate me though if a vid encourages someone else to try a technique, as Machina labs have been having a go at some stasis after watching my vid.

I am sure Shirak is some kind of under cover toy salesmanbiggrin

You're right, I'm still thinking like one of the skeptics from the previous forums I've visited. For some reason, I'm still thinking that I would have to prove everything to everyone. Like "How can I do research on psychokinesis, if I don't present any proof, because proof is what makes it science."

On the other hand, I just love helping people out in such a way that they wouldn't understand they were helped (psychokinesis that wouldn't be proven). A part of me wants to make psionics a widely accepted field of science and another part sees mind over matter as something that should be saved from the grip of regular science.

That's right Sussch,  I don't think we need to prove anything as there is quite large psionic community on YouTube now.  Its more a sharing of techniques to other people, and a record of progress I suppose.
Are there any forums where I don't have to join but I can have a look around,  like a real skeptical one.  I would love to go and have a look

Thanks.

I found vsociety to be the most skeptical about things:

http://forums.vsociety.net/index.php

Whenever someone new came in and described their experiences, most of the forum convinced them that they had never had these experiences to begin with. When I tried to bring them back to the topic (which was "what should I do?" and not "was it real or not?"), everyone simply ignored me (even the author of the post).

A bit more back on topic.. Found it, it was Emotiv's PC headset:

I see what you mean Sussch, I felt like I was getting suffocated in therebiggrin
I must be getting old as I havn't been keeping track of all these new toys and computer gizmo's all working off sensing of brainwaves.  I think some of these could have good potential to help our Psionic development.
Also I wonder if this will lead to alot more psions, or people will just associate it with toys and games and not the real world.
Interesting how PK is still taboo but companies are bringing all these devices out that work off the same principle as PK
