Electrokinesis??

I was gonna unscrew a lightbulb that was almost going out, and it did this.... Is this Electrokinesis??

Very cool! Might very well be electrokinesis.

Though, personally I've been a bit skeptical when something similar has happened to me while touching the CFL (it's fairly sensitive to electrostatics).

It's part of the processes that can be considered electrokinesis. Our bodies have electricity flowing through it all the time though how much control over it is usually not done consciously. What you're seeing here is the change in the flow of electrons within the fluorescent tubes. It's similar to the effect you see with plasma balls. Your body is acting as a path to ground or something like that. I wouldn't take what I'm saying as a dismissal of what you're experiencing. In fact I'd practice meditating and working with the bulb if you're so inclined and try to extend the distance your finger is from the bulb that you can get the flow to change just as you do when you touch it.

What do you mean by "if you're so inclined"??

Basically that I am not trying to deter you from practicing electrokinesis by saying what you experienced might not be electrokinesis but a natural effect caused by the human body. If you were interested in pursuing the ability to manipulate electricity you could easily use this failed bulb as a method to begin training. I have seen people use the plasma balls as a way to practice which could be a good reason for you to buy one.

I am pretty sure it happened to me as well, a few years ago (I have a good memory :D) when I was unscrewing one. I dont think its electrokinesis...too, way too much energy there for it to happen unconsciously. Also my dad always told me to close the house's electricity switches before unscrewing bulbes...

@limpidprogress Oh, ok, i think that sounds like a good idea. Do you know any good excercises for the plasma ball??

@arramu I guess my dad doesn't care about me then lol. He's never told me that before.

Well .. I've changed a bulb on the ceiling without switching off electricity once.

Hadn't slept for 2 days or something, and thought I could see better when I turned the lights on -- which is just plain dumb biggrin. Accidentally touched the wrong connection and felt a shock down to the heart. Luckily I was standing on a surface with quite a bit of resistance and my other hand was not grounded. Though, this made me reconsider the safety of each action each time I've missed sleep.

Here are some examples of electrokinesis practice with light bulbs:

www.youtube.com/watch
www.youtube.com/watch - a video by our very own Shirak pulsing a light bulb

Honestly I haven't done much with it and don't think I'll be much of a help as far as learning. I'd do a search on YouTube for instructions to do electrokinesis for beginners or something like that.

All I do is switch off the light switch before switching out a bulb. If the circuit isn't complete then you're fine and won't get shocked.

@limpidprogress So basically, I just got to do the same thing, just unplugged?? Easy peasy!! Lol thanks.

@owltwelve Hmmm, that looks interesting, any techniques on how??

Sure. I think that there are probably easier ways to get started but I haven't found much of a personal interest in electricity though my touch screen often doesn't work because of whatever development I've already done in other areas. I wish it was easy but then again I'm glad it's not. If it were I would have most likely caused a lot of havoc around me on accident. I'm not as good at controlling my emotions and thoughts as I'd like.

Well, honestly, being able to manipulate anythin with my mind sounds great to me, which is why im here obviously, and I figure that, you know, electrons being that tiny and light, and since theyre always in motion anyways, it sounds like a good place to start. But i guess its all just a matter of opinion.

Entrainment:

When you concentrate on a form, field, or system for long enough, your nervous system begins to resonate with it. You start to notice that whatever you pay attention to, is part of you kinesthetically, and will respond to your intentions, & emotional states:)

Wow really??? Dang owltwelve that's really cool to know, I had no idea. That sounds really interesting. Quick question though, to concentrate on a "form, field or system" what do I concentrate on exactly?? I'm sorry I'm not too knowledgable on this stuff.... But like, the way it moves, or physical attributes, or what??

My first experience with what Owl is talking about was when I made my first psi ball. You hold your hands close together and imagine and feel with all the senses that you can a ball of energy between them. When you push and pull your hands apart feel the ball squish and expand. You can even focus on the tip of your forefinger for an extended period of time and it'll start tingling and all the stuff it'll do that is unique to your experience. Since your hands are a part of you already in your perception it'll be easier to feel the "form, field or system". If you were to sit down and focus on a ping pong ball for example and hold it in your hands for 15-30 minutes a day or longer for months on end you'll eventually get to where you connect with it and it begins to respond to your thoughts. I'm sure Owl has a better way of putting this into words than I do but that's how it has worked for me though I haven't been as dedicated lately to doing psychokinesis like I was before. I mostly focus on meditation and my inner energy balance lately. I was learning how to stop spinning objects until it started making me sick because there is something wrong with me that I haven't been able to figure out yet. :(

Basically, when you stare at an object without judging or labelling, you'll start to feel as if you are the object -- you become attuned to the object (become in resonance with it). In the case that the object is a can, then rolling it feels like you're making somersaults yourself. It's like you're possessing the body of the can.

The same works with a spoon (Matrix hint). The same works with air, water, fire, mud, nuclear radiation, electromagnetic fields, gravity and what not.

Just like you're not bending the spoon (Matrix hint), you're not really moving the electrons -- you're moving yourself.

With electricity you could meditate somewhere where there's electricity nearby, and try to feel the electricity. Eventually you'll become one with it, you'll recognize it when it happens. Beware of geisting (unintentional, unconscious pk), while on the other hand, make sure you're not afraid. What happens, happens, and it will pass.

@limpidprogress Oooh, man, that sucks, I hope you find out soon. Maybe when you do, you can fix yourself up and get back into it.

@Sussch So, I'll know when it happens?? Hmmm, sounds cool, but what's this "geisting" stuff you speak of?? How do you "unintentionally, unconscious[ly]" do pk?? And why should one beware of it??

I've had ceiling lamps flicker, streetlamps go out, electronics malfunction, radio stations go offline, blackouts. Your mileage may vary.

Mind tends to tangle into loops (cycling through the same thoughts, emotions, feelings) when stressed or tired.

These thoughts, emotions, feelings may trigger psychokinetic responses. It's like the psychokinesis takes on a mind of its own, feeding off emotions. Then, in order not to cause uncontrolled psychokinesis (which might harm someone or cause other problems), the mind could start fighting itself (not good). Often the more violent the uncontrolled psychokinesis, the more emotional it gets .. which is basically a positive feedback loop that burns out at some point (even worse).

Probably the way out of these loops is to observe the phenomena without judging it (without avoiding it and without clinging to it).

"without avoiding it and without clinging to it"

One of the most messed up things I've come across since I started learning how to meditate. It's like a puzzle in a puzzle and no one can really describe how the pieces of that method really fits together properly. :P I "think" I am beginning to understand but I sure doubt that I do.

EDIT: I should clarify that this isn't the first time I've heard of this. I'm just saying that it is one of those things I feel like I'll never fully understand.
