RE: Training Techniques

From watching his other videos it seems as though he focuses his energy then releases his intent. Instead of a constant strain focus he coloses his eyes for several seconds then realeases. I hope to be able to correspond with him if he is open to dialogue.

Increasing Concentration And Focus
=======================

Today I found a way to increase concentration and focus that goes like this:

Instead of starting with something that is stopped and begin moving it I
start by finding something that is already moving and then affecting the
direction of that movement.

There are many kinds of things that fit in that description... just look
around.

Personally I try to use things that are not boring.

So, if something is traveling along a certain path I just provoke a tiny
little adjustment in order to make it go along a different path, all with
minimum effort.

The single purpose of this is increasing the speed of concentration and focus.

I came up with this one, because it's still quite hard for me to keep up
with anything that already moves by itself, and things that move randomly
are much, much more difficult, but also much, much more fun... besides
I've also been trying to stop objects that are moving, and this exercise
just might be helpful for that.

Like what kinds of things?
I've tried something similar on a bug, a fly that was flying around, but I don't know if this is what you mean...

Hi,

I just got an idea for an experiment, or exercise. You could use a precision weightier (or how do you name that thing that weights stuff) and put a glass of water on it and then try to remove or add weight to it. It would be as close as you can get scientifically to it, having a device that measures your "force".

Already on it my friend interesting and good for feedback.

Well, kinda like that...

Personally I don't like to do it to animals... not even the smallest fly or
bug or ant, cause then it would be just a matter of time untill those small
animals become replaced by bigger ones, which, in time, would ultimately lead
to people... and I don't want that stuff about manipulating people.

Besides, I also don't want to be manipulated.

So, what do I use instead?

Anything... just look around.

For instance an example of a continually moving object that I use could be
for instance the wind speed mesuring device that only turns one way.

Two days ago I discovered that these things are scattered all around the
campus of my college/university and I have never noticed them before.

That's why I say to just look around.

So, in my house I also improvised one of those things and guess what I do
every morning 5 minutes after waking up?

Yap, spin that thing one way, the other, then back again, do it against the
wind, from above, from below, using one technique, using another one, etc...

Sometimes I even forget the time and stay there, just challenging the wind.

It's fun.

And by doing that, today I found a new way to make the "connection with the
object" even more simple and fast, while I was experimenting, so that's why
I say it's fun.

As for randomly moving objects... I have a river near my house, so whenever
a leaf falls from a tree it floats on those places where the water is a little
still, but the wind and the current make it move in every direction, and that
in turn becomes a great exercise.

That might not seem like much, but try doing it while at the same time having
an afternoon snack and without any visual indicators like using the hands.

So, that's just two examples... by being creative, many more will show up.

The keyword is "creative".

Also, I'm starting to develop a way that three months from now will give me
the ability to start training more seriously, and untill then, that is gonna
take pretty much all my efforts and attention.

But even though, I've decided to place different objects in places where I
usually spend the day so that I keep this kind of training going... and some
of those objects I didn't even had to place, cause they have always been there.

There is a book by Louisa E. Rhine (PHD) called psi what is it? It has an entire chapter dedicated to esp in animals and scientific tests done at universities and labs to prove it. It is a very informative book that covers much of the studies done pre 1976. A gem for the library if you can get your hands on a copy. It offers interesting historical perspective pre Skeptic Society bigotry days.

This is a very good walkthrough by Omnist a Psion who I feel is legit. It is a technique for pushpull technique.

This video has some good experiments you can try for yourself to see if these arguments have merit for yourself.

well, might as well share a technique that i've used, helped me when i was doing it daily.

when i would do this, there was an unused service road that was overgrown. it had a nice feel to it and would go for about 10-20 minutes of walking.

i started off just walking the path and trying to just listen to the natural sounds (there were some city sounds but in this path it was rather rare.) hearing and listening to the whole thing... birds, trees, the sound of the stones under my feet... that kinda thing.

after a week or so of doing this, i started to focus on one specific sound at a time... listening to it, really listening... putting all my attention to that sound for the duration of the walk. each day i'd choose a different sound.

after about a week or so of this, i started to listen to more... focusing on the birds and trees one day, then the stones and wind the next... that kinda thing.

progressively started to listen to more and more sounds as the days went by, really listening to them until i could just focus on the whole thing at once as one giant morass of noise (but not tuning it out or disregarding it... kinda like really being in the moment and just letting it come.) did this for about a week or so.

after a while of doing this i kinda noticed that i was being more aware and in tune with the sounds... when something was out of the ordinary, i could percieve it a bit clearer.

after that, took the focusing and tuned out one sound at a time a day... moving up to all sounds until all that was left was a sort of mental stillness. i considered it a "success" when i was able to walk the entire path in that kind of mental stillness.

this has helped me with focus, thought i'd share it with others... it might help others, might not, your milage may vary. but hey, wether it works or not, being able to take daily walks through natural areas can be very refreshing, especially if you live in a bustling city. ;)

That video was awesome! Very cool, not only the demonstrations, but the entire concept(s). Nice job to Shirak. Good vibes to him, wherever he is.
