Hello

just joined this forum. watched the youtube clips and one really stood out for me... the one in which you basically have to "know thyself."

i believe that there is a piece of the puzzle here. i hope i can find it :)

i do know, however, that i am not at the end point of my journey, i have moments where ego gets in the way. i hope to change that.

as for a background.

grown up as a Unitarian christian, had a crisis of faith at a young age and turned to different faiths and spirituality, trying to figure out the how's and why's of the universe and my place in it. turned to a more dedicated, meditative sort of wicca with what i guess was energy working at it's core. always been a solitary practitioner which i guess gave me the freedom to pursue without the dogma that tends to go with some religious ways... reading up on Carlos Casteneda's work, another with a main character named Nainoa (can't remember the titles, sorry. it was a while ago.) it's been a long road there which led to a "oh wow" moment. a couple years ago in college, i became interested in Hinduism. the reasons being that i had another of those "oh wow" moments...

the first "oh wow" moment was back when i was about 23 ish... i was meditating on a daily basis and on the last day i remember something happening... kinda like that peace you get While meditating but almost tangible and much more intense.

the second "oh wow" moment i found a little pendant on my way home from work while in college, it was scuffed up and in rough condition and had a symbol on it. i brought it home and meditated on that symbol and it just drew me into this really deep and hard to describe state. found out later after showing it to a friend that it was the Om. that's kinda what sparked my interests into Hinduism and Kundalini.

and a couple months ago i stumbled on Shirak's videos... and the rest is history i guess.

so, yeah... that's some of the more intense moments in my life, i hope that i can find the piece of the puzzle here. in the process, it'd be neat to see about sharing some insights as well. i mean, we're here to learn with eachother and from eachother, right? :)

I'm pretty sure I have the reputation for being the "forum skeptic" by now but I do have some useful advice.

Metaphors and ambiguities are our biggest clues yet their unclarified definitions can lead us to misinterpretation. Look up -everything- that interests you, astonishes you, and pleases you; look into understanding what made you feel that way and the relationship between the words and your perspective.

Follow your instincts because they are programmed into you for a reason, and do not submit your will to anyone or anything that causes harm in any physical or mental way.

Patience is the only weapon you have against time.

I think you'd also get something out of the emerald tablets, it speaks to everyone differently no matter what the text says.

Hi Redregon and welcome to the forum.

I am still piecing together the puzzle its nice to hear of others experiences and interests every now and then  I get an oh yeah moment of inspiration from anothers insight.

I think that when I began to glimpse my true self  I began to see through many of the illusions of society and those  I came into contact with with so many reality outlooks and projections I learned to find my own center. I think many of the Masters of old left us pieces as well sometimes they have been changed by establishments or people to reflect their own perspectives.

Learning to find my center my true self has helped me in work my relationships and my own PK training.  I have learned to find productive ways to look at life instead of focusing only on the negatives. I think that a mind dedicated to learning and training its will in its chosen avenue of research will evolve points of understanding that increase not only awareness of natural law but ability to do more.

Welcome to the forums! There's an abundance of thoughts and opinions here and you never know which one will help you with a piece to your puzzle. Even now I still find useful information in older threads that I thought I had sqeezed dry :) Lotsa good reading here.
