Newbie here so no poking, stone throwing name calling or hatemail please
A few days ago after just a few days trying to geta crude psiwheel to move I shocked myself when I was not only able to spin it but I was also able to make it go exactly where I wanted it to go, that being the paper and the thumb tac it was on. I was able to push it away from me and then pull it towards me without any waiting around for it to happen either, it was instantaneous.
The weird thing was that it happened after i'd taken a break for a couple of days from it, I came back to it, had only just placed it down and started trying to move it without any effort and it just did it. Now unfortunately I can't even seem to be able to get so much as a quiver out of it and I can't seem to fathom out why.
I've read through various sources that this is quite common after the initial burst and that some people can struggle to progress and i'm trying to figure out what the psychological reason could be. I know that it's not doubt of being able to do it again because I know that I can do it, as theres no other explanation for the way it moved (I even considered the possibility it was a hair stuck to the paper but my hands didnt move when it first did) so i'm thinking it must have something to do with the way I felt afterwards, I was pretty overwhelmed but there wasn't any negative thought patterns in it. The only thing I can think of is simply the want to do it again, it seems strange but I can't think of any other reason.
During my recent sessions i've felt energy building up and a strange throbbing sensation going through mebut it feels like it doesnt have anywhere to go, I also get slight pressure in my head sometimes but I get this even after lengthy meditations and trying the same minimal effort technique.
Anyone have any tips to hellp me overcome this apparent blockage?
It's important to totally relax before or after strongly willing and intending objects to move. It sort of like has to flow on its own with you just directing it with feelings and intention.
When I first started with the psi-wheel, I was pushing it so hard that I ended up with a nasty headache that lasted for couple of weeks. After that, I no longer put much of an effort into pk and it just sort of happens when I focus on the feeling of stuff moving and then relax, letting go of everything.
You could visualize clearing out the blockages with as many senses as possible. Meditating on the stillness of the mind also seems to dissolve blockages and keep them from occurring.
Hope this helps

That's the thing you see I was fairly relaxed, trying to replicate the same thought patterns but it's just not happening but I guess maybe im wanting it to move too much again. The mind is a complex thing... even my simple mind
But yeah thanks for the advice, I'll try to chill a bit more and want less.
Hey Fozzy, welcome to the forum, & you don't really have to worry about negative comments to your questions:)
Another reason to stay relaxed, is that like anything else, you may have off days & days that flow. Even after lots of experience and success, you may experience this, which is no big deal after you've been doing this long enough.

Never give up, i took me a while to move a psi-wheel. Still not the best at it, mine is just to erasers and two thumb tacks with a fortune cookie fortune folded in half and balanced on top. Everything will work out the way you want it to, start a journal and record feelings, movements, etc. so you now where to go and how far you have come. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it (literally!!XD). Oh and by the way...Hello! ^_^

Welcome Fozzy hey, The throbbing in your head. Read this first then try. Close your eyes. Allow your attention to go to the back of your brain, Now the the front. Take time to appreciate the shift in sensation. Now the left side, Now the right, Now the centre. Take your time until all your focus are at each of these areas. Now once you have experience moving awareness to each point try cycling it clockwise for several revolutions then counter clockwise. This internal referencing can later be used to direct the psi wheel without conscious thought. once you entrain to the energy and matter arround the psi wheel you can direct it using feel. It sounds as though you already are experiencing a build up in this area. Also please relax a friend of mine used to get headaches from trying to hard. He started to approach it from a relaxed state then he found he got the same success. This is the law of least effort. PK is not a physical or muscular based activity so detach from stressing your body to cause it to happen.

@Shirak: Wow, that's an interesting way to practice acquiring feelings for different kind of movements. It's so simple and yet it hasn't occurred to me. Thanks..

hi fozzy! yeah! i would agree with sussch!& shirak! about visulizing the energy! moving through where you block is!!..good advice... also!! try using yin& yang energy! (suck&pull) in alternate hands! push with left for while!.. then suck with left for while same for right hand hand!! really feel your hand sucking or pushing your chosen target! this will keep your energy in balance and ensure healthy movement of your chi energy!.. hope this helps too!

Yeah that's how I normally meditate because concentrating on an object just leads to distractions but I don't know if this will help any of you but I think it may be helping for me.
Imagine one big stick of dynamite placed in all the blockages (i tend to visualize them as bricks but I guess they can and do vary) with a fuse trailer coming from each one, linked of course to one plunger. Visualize the plunger going down and then visualize a massive fireball expanding outwards from the center of your body completely oblitarating all the"bricks" in its path and sending them flying well outside of your body and dissapearing.
After I did this I started to feel a fizzing feeling in my head as well as my third eye which felt like something was passing out through it but i'm not sure if this has helped at all yet because I think it will take some time to work fully so I may have a better idea tomorrow, so I'll post a wee update then but it does definately feel like its doing something.
Also thought I should point out that it is better that you try this visualization while your meditating as your visualization abilities will be much greater then, although I myself did it just after meditating, so it'd have a similar effect still. Also I thought I should point out that i've actually been a medium since the age of 19, so i've a fair bit of experience to offer when it comes to meditation and creative visualizations allthough I have struggles being able to visualize properly for a long time but its gradually getting better. Anyhoo I think i've rambled enough for now, dont want to bore you all to death.
So i'll keep you posted on my progress :)

Well after trying some PK this morning the throbbing has all but gone, I think some more meditation will do the trick. So it seems the above method works
