Witchcraft, Magick, spells, runes, sigils?

You've probably heard of it: Magick, witchcraft, anything involving spells, runes and whatnot. Summoning demons, even. I'd like to hear your opinions on this, if I may. Me? I find it to sound extremely fluffy. As in, sounds bull****. I just find it terribly unbelievable that you just can do something (like telekinesis) when certain conditions are met (think of, say, full moon, correct placement of stones on table, etc). It all sounds, well, waaay too fluffy. I'm more into psionics. A simpler, more "scientific" (-giggles in the auditorium-) aproach to doing things. Now, I haven't done too much looking into it, so that may be a bit of the cause of me not liking it and all. ~ Fang

There are are posts on the subject of magick on the forum already, but this mostly a psioncs/PK forum. Though I have practiced & studied magick for a long time; I don''t write much on it here because it makes some uncomfortable.

Having been a Christian; a hypnotist, martial artist/chi gung practiioner, taoist, yogi, buddhist etc. I would say it's all the same stuff. What you are doing with magick as with all these other disciplines, is learning techniques to control your own mind, in order to focus & crytalize your consciousness. It has served me well in my life to make use of what ever will work for me. Magick, is an internal process rather than an external one. If one focuses on the external, it is by way of sympathy to bring about internal responses, in much the same way that breathing in certain ways can lead to certain states of mind. You can do the same with natural forces like the wind or the moon to your benefit. Psions would call this entrainment. In any case, I'm saying it doesn't matter what you call it, if it works for you.

If I spoke a foreign language you didn't understand. You wouldn't know whether I was saying magick, psionics, or santa clause caused the psi_wheel to move. So, in the end, what matters is the doing:)

True words, true words.

It's indeed true that "in the end it doesn't even matter" what caused it. The fact that it was caused is great!
In essence, I believe all these different beliefs are based on one and the same thing. At a time, people just tried something new. It worked better, so they sticked with it. Other people picked it up, noticed it worked better/worse for them, and went with it/let it be.

well, it depends on the personality of the person honeslty.

if I was to practice magic, there is no way I would use blood creepy spells for example, but I would like to feel that I know a chant or something like that and I have the ability to chant and do magic spells, maybe because as a child i was watching the Bewitched the tv series and i totally loved it!

:)
