"The world revolves around me."

Do you ever feel like the world revolves around you? Not in a selfish way, but because of random coincidences, etc.

Happens to me quite often: I think or read about something interesting, and suddenly it's all over the place. Well, nothing major or anything, it just suddenly pops up in the news or on some site or something.

it really gets you to think: does the world revolve around me? Is the world, it's people and their thoughts, a mere creation of my subconcious? Do you react like that because I expect you to? Did I create that landscape because I saw something similar on a picture I saw once (which was, in turn, (randomly) generated by my subconcious)?

Yeah i do get the feeling sometimes the world revolves around me. As you mentioned, the Synchronicity of events sometimes feels very tailored to me specifically sometimes.

But the world supports us all, and we each have these moments. So in essence, i would say that rather then revolves around me, in those moments, maybe the world/universe is trying to speak to me a little more directly.

As for everything around me generated by my subconscious mind. I too have wondered how i could disprove it. Even if a person declares "I am my own person, and not generated by your subconscious", that is something my subconscious may say. But then i remember a few small things. 1, the world was here long before me. Plants, animals and people, and if they weren't here before me, and events or decisions or what have you, didn't shape their lives for me to come along, my life would likely be shapeless. 2, there is also the small thing of me being able to go outside myself and feel and become more apart of the world around me, which help me to realize its really there. 3, there are sceneries i've never seen, or heard of, then suddenly did. Things people knew that i didn't, that i now know. Surprising textures or even taste...or smells. But may be most importantly, there are things in this world i wouldn't even fathom up, yet exist. Many atrocities that i can barely stomach.

So in short, i suppose the above could be explained as all acts of the murky and secretive subconscious mind. But if then that is the case, then i must ask, why? Love looses it's meaning; your not in love with a real person. Experience is tainted, again not real. Hell, to sum it up, everything wouldn't be real. At that point, how could you even be sure you are real, when nothing else is?

Anyways, my 2 cents. It's probably way to early in the morning for me to be rambling on all philosophical-like.

Have fun!

It does feel like this. These synchronicities have become so weird that it has become amazingly difficult, if not impossible to tell the difference between reality and dreams.

In one of my dreams, I noticed how everything started changing before someone else entered the dream. I was in a van, talking with my friend. Then, the scenery behind the windows started changing .. as if we were driving real fast without a driver. I think it felt like the van was actually standing still. Anyway, the van arrived at a place where a girl (van owner's daughter) was about to take the driver's seat and speed to some place she had to go (actually the same place where the van was before she entered).

She paid more attention to feeling bad about it than she did on her driving. When I looked out of the window, a differences in our experiences could be seen. Everything that was in her view, was detailed, physics worked, dents appeared on car and stuff. What was not in her view, was plain (without details), ignored physics and didn't matter to her at all. There I could create anything I wanted without affecting her experience.

It was like a dream of two different experiences, merged into one. Or rather, multiple people playing in different corners of the same sandbox. There is communication and there are shared gameplay elements between them, but for each, the experience is different .. it might even be a different game.

I don't think our "reality" is much different.

Added some philosophical rambling aww.

That's an interesting thing you have there Sussch, two people, same dream, different parts with different properties.

Nox, how can you be so sure that the world was really there before you came around? People told you that, history told you that, but your subconcious might as well have fabricated that, too.
But, like you said, if we dive to deep into all that, nothing is real anymore, and we may find our existence to be not as fun/special anymore. Danger, right there.

What makes something real?

For that, we'd have to know what, when, and how we define reality. When is something real?
The stuff that happens in our dreams is just as real as the stuff that happens in our concious, physical world.

I think people define reality in their own way; in group agreements, & it's all subject to change. I think people define reality by what they can perceive with their 5 senses mostly, but as many of us who look deeper than the surface can see; there is much more than that. If you've ever played a video game & thought about it, you become aware that your nervous system reacts to your video game avatar's experiences. I think reality is pretty ambiguous; fuzzy & basically subjective:)
