Empathy, a Pleasent Side Effect to Yogic Training

Hey everybody, as a side effect of what I am doing I have been able to read people the past few months. I will be in a social scenario and get a feeling towards a person. Then I pick apart that feeling and realize more about that person. I can feel the emotions and motives a person hides away. I am becoming more and more able to pick somebody completely apart.

My ex girlfriend was actually able to do this, she is a natural empath and has years of practice on me. I always thought it was because she was super smart but as I began to develop the ability years later I realized that was not the case.To try and get something past her was very hard and hidden motives were always picked up on. Dating an empath was quite interesting.

So thats what I view empathy as, what is empathy like for you guys, is it the same or different?

Empathy is a great tool for understanding people with exotic mindsets and having them understand yours.

On the other hand, once, the following happened. An old professor had me solve some sort of a differential equation. I realized it had no solutions. The professor, however, was certain there would be at least 1. Went to his table and described the problem as clearly as I could. His mind got it all different. I was curious, focused on the feeling of him and got to look around in what I thought was his apartment. After that, I was convinced it just had to have those solutions. He, on the other hand, was now convinced there would be none. I went back to my table, sat there for a few minutes in confusion and then again reached the conclusion that there would be no solutions (took me time to start seeing things from my old viewpoint again). Aand then the same thing happened .. I walked back and forth, switching from one mindset to another. =D

Also, the mindset often changes when spending some time together with friends. Or when walking past someone and seeing the world / life from their point of view. It might be somewhat problematic, because the current western school system has us believe we are unique and have to be ourselves. Due to / thanks to empathy, there is no such thing as ourselves, we are like Lain, in everybody at the same time. Or perhaps: different people are different aspects of a whole.

Sometimes a feeling pops up and shadows all thoughts. When I focus on it, it becomes unpacked, revealing images, symbols and more feelings. Say there's an image, a feeling or something that you would like to change. You could focus on it changing. One day you may notice that the person, the place, event in time has changed. The altered feeling grows in and becomes one with it. With empathy, you can change/design the world.

To me, it's partially the same. The bad side effect is that when you can't control it and go to crowded areas, it can overwhelm. I usually pick up negative thoughts and feelings where i live (The conditions aren't the best here either). The good part of it is, that sometimes people say i can see through them (and if i could help em). It really inspires to train more. I've never met another empath, so no experience there.

But overall is the same.

I have not experienced overwhelming feelings from people in crowded areas as you have. During my walks through crowded areas I am most of the time filled with peace. This is a side effect of the Kundalini being in the 1st chakra.

Empathy does have an explanation, it stems from a combination of the Male and Female energy. The female energy is feeling and the male energy is will or logic. If you are a man and a natural empath you more then likely have more female energy naturally available to you. The feelings which come up from social interactions come from the Female energy which is then examined by the Male energy.

Yeah I get that alot, mostly with feelings. Its nice cause sometimes, when I see someone in a state of great happiness, I end up feeling this happiness as if it was my own. The bad side effect is that I get depressed easily when around sad people.
