This film takes the topic of telekinesis very seriously, I think the members of this forum will appreciate the small scope of the character's abilities. The film has people using psi wheels and is a much more down to earth.

No spoiling details

What I liked:

There are many things about training PK in the movie, that I've never scene in a film before. There are many things in the movie which I thought were true.

The quality of the story telling was spotty, but had some really good moments.

What I didn't like:

There was a dark tone to the movie which I found unnecessary; distracting, & a bit over the top.

Some of the actors were terrible, & some ok.

The powers developed way to fast, but since it's a movie, I can accept that.

Overall:

It was far from a perfect, but it is definitely the only PK movie of it's kind. On that alone, it was worth the low cost purchase. Also, it does have some very fun & inspiring moments:)

I'm just going to take a shot in the dark at this. I haven't seen the movie yet.

The teacher was working at pear, his funding was cut, and maybe he was thrown out. A bit upset, he sets his sights on these students to be his Guinea pigs, and he ends up being the bad guy? Maybe the students have to stop him somehow, or something.

Just a guess though. Was I far off?

Oh, I know there are bad ones. But I think that in the end, there are mostly good ones....

Mind control would be awesome. I can't say I really appreciated it until I saw the movie, Push. There's a movie were the telekinetic was a good guy! :)

Then again, they did have a better telekinetic as a bad guy, too, so.... I digress...

On another note it is typical of a pk movie to cast the person with PK or persons with pk ability as evil or villainous. It is almost a given that they are cast in that light except the movie the men who stare at goats.

I think PK is notoriously the ability of choice for bad guys because of how powerful and awesome it is. Can't easily pull of the underdog hero thing when the hero is wielding TK, and the villain is using fluffy bunny power. Just doesn't make for quite the same story.

Good thing most people who can do TK in real life, are the good guys. :)

Don't kid yorself man, there are plenty of evil psychokintetics out there. Also, a psionic skill that leads to darkness faster than PK, is mind control:)

@Shirak: "The men who stare at goats" seems like it's based on the same group and projects that "PSI Spies" describes.

Half a year ago, we met a channeler from India and she told pretty wicked stories about black magic that had been performed on her family. But that's about it.

Yes, power is neutral, & people have used it in both saintly & disgraceful ways since humans have been around. Even I have used PK for pranks; to win money, or to gain some other advantage. There are few constraints on psions if any, & most humans make use of their advantages in life.
