You don't need a mentor, but you should take the time to read through the forum, especially some of the journals:)

For aero, you could observe a windy day and imagine being the wind. What does it feel like to blow through the trees, to touch the walls of the buildings, to rub air against air, etc..

For hydro, you could observe a river and imagine being the water. What does it feel like to run around the rocks, to make soil wet, to rub water against water, etc..

While observing the movement of air and water, you'll learn to be air and water.

"Patience is a virtue",  as they say.

If you have no patience, how can you have mastered meditation, or even the rest of what you call the basics? You don't have to read the journals, or do anything you don't want to do, but you get out, what you put in.

The quick answer to the development to all mind powers, is deep, consistent concentration:)
