Psipog.net is getting de-registered on the 1st day of 2014 so grab the archive while you still can. There is a ton of useful information on it, except the message by Sean aka peebrain. If you read this message too late, pm me, or message me on youtube/user/delhigod and I'll send you a copy as soon as I see your email.
Personally, I can see why he failed. I have spent a lot of time wondering why he stopped after so many years. Why did he fail and how can I make sure I won't be like him? The answer is very simple: he didn't practice enough.
He wasn't dedicated enough. He wrote down on an article that he practiced empathy about 12 times but read people "hundreds" of times. To me that's like saying you went to the gym 12 times then tried to compete in the Mr. Olympia - surprise surprise you got nowhere and were often fooled. Psychic skills are real but they take consistent effort and dedication to truly blossom. I know this to be a fact.
I found his final message to be an INSULT to all practicing and aspiring psions, especially newbies who have no guidance. I find it intellectually bankrupt to say that it's a matter of luck that some weird things occur. In fact I laugh at that as I'm busy spinning my pencil or pin wheel under a glass bowl. There's no luck or plausible scientific explanation for moving.objects.with.your.mind. Period! I can see why he'd arrive at such conclusions - personally this is the exact reason I don't practice "soft" skills like astral projection, empathy, etc... Hard skills like pk cannot be questioned, but soft skills *unless developed to a high degree* are virtually negligible. And make no mistake about it, despite being interested for 14 years (more like 12), he was not an active practitioner. He was a dabbler.
But the information in those articles are very useful and can help you get started - get it as soon as you can.

That website helped many aspiring psions get information. Unfortunately many people think that to practice 1-10 times and not be a master makes them inept. I blame Hollywood mindset in almost every movie the psion gets a "power" all of a sudden without having to work for or at it. Thanks for the heads up ill go there now and archive.

Yep, you said it best - we live in a culture of fast results. If you don't lose weight in 2 weeks, the program clearly doesn't work, etc... Oh well, it's a great pity but at least there is a lot to be learned. The old people say it best - if you can't be an example, be a warning :).

I think that a healthy attitude involves recognition that we are talking about the development of skills. How much time & effort does learning the piano take to become competent? Now imagine if you were learning the piano without structure or guidance from a teacher.
On another note; I have found that all psi skills are the same skill. If you can develop good control of your attention, you can do everything. The universe is mental; astral, a dream:)
