Discussion on Reddit has me worried about some stuff

Here's the link to the discussion (the relevant parts are my comment threads with AlphaCrown): https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/8bdmvv/astral_projection_lessons_newbies/

But it's a lot to read so I'll summarize the main thing I'm worried about here.

Basically, he's saying that when I die, I could go to the astral plane, but it's much more preferable to go to the "fifth dimension" or higher (not sure if there's another more common name for whatever he's referring to), which is something that it's impossible to see during life except in rare cases that can't be created intentionally. Supposedly the astral plane is actually not that pleasant of a place to go when I die, because I'll be "trapped" there, and it'll take what feels like an eternity to get somewhere better. And if I'm active in things like astral projection and paranormal abilities (which, obviously, I would really love to get into) then I'm almost guaranteed to be trapped there. If I am to take what he says seriously, this adds yet another dimension of uncertainty to the whole thing, another unknown to get in my way.

Another thing he's saying is that my entire ego-based personality, and all my memories, etc. will be permanently gone when I die. Even if there's an afterlife, I won't be able to be what I think of as myself there, no matter what I do--apparently, even if I do remain living in some way after my body dies, the "me" I'm used to thinking of myself as being won't be able to enjoy it. But when I die, I want to be able to stay myself, approaching the afterlife just how I'd approach it now. If there is an afterlife, I (as in the "I" I know) don't want to be left out of it, even if a different, perhaps more fundamental aspect of "I" does get to enjoy it to. I want to enjoy it too. Is that really not possible?

Should I be worried or does that guy not know what he's talking about? Feel free to look through the thread as well if you want.

does that guy not know what he's talking about? - this one. There's a couple things that happen upon death but none to worry about. Seek to cultivate yourself. You will not only take the road that you deserve but the one that will serve you best depending on your fears.

"Another thing he's saying is that my entire ego-based personality, and all my memories, etc. will be permanently gone" - you will get a new set of physical and astral bodies, malkuth and yesod. So you will have to access those alternate lives from much deeper part of your subconsciouss/atman. Since most people are trapped inside the body consciousness, that remains a mythological fairytale for them. Keep advancing in meditation and this should come naturally :).

I'd not worry about was is known or unknown in regard to the afterlife. Just as Sir Aqua has stated you really need to just focus on cultivating your abilities as much as you can. It's okay to have the drive to cultivate and practice but be wary that you fall into the trap of becoming obsessed with worry about what is likely nothing to worry about. You will find that there are a lot of "Opinions" regarding what happens to us. Don't let them shape your view. Be open and there is no trap.

"just focus on cultivating your abilities as much as you can" - the main point I wanted to emphasize on this is whatever the afterlife or whatever possiblity of the afterlife happens you happen to obtain, as there are different ways to part, there is no such thing as eternal damnation like the christians hell or anything close to it. Do not worry about the consquences of not being enlightened and living life but focus on becoming enlightened and living life on the way.
That's like being super excited about joining a combat gym, say you pick boxing gym, but you get worried heavily on the way to your first class at the gym, about that some boxers got some brain damage from boxing. That's nonsense and most boxers do not suffer from this. In fact boxers are greatly spirited towards box and that's the attitude we should always have in life towards everything. The power of willing fire will be the one to reach daylight at the end of the night :D

So if you see 'opinions' like these on the internet, ignore these people as they do not know concretly. Actually knowledge of how to cultivate so that ones soul will depart in a pretty favourable 'possiblity' in the afterlife is readily available on the net, forums, books, traditions....buddhism gives their lore about supernatural powers and how they can ge obtained with simple kasina practice to anyone, literally available one google search away to every 'goyim' on the planet. Yet, it's the same 'goyim' masses of people that do not know anything about this stuff and worry the most about ... well, they worry and fear just about anything, that's how they function.
