New drug that removes painful memories.

I heard on the radio today that they are releasing a drug for the use of removing painful memories. I wonder how long this drug has been around? I wonder what applications it has been used for.  This disturbs me because it could potentially be abused. To chemically remove memory I believe is wrong. My Grandma died from Alzheimer's and it is like she went away piece by piece. Ill try and source the article for this. no

What happens when governments decide to abuse this drug or groups decide to use this to remove certain belief systems from people? Something ot be alert for. Also could this not be used to make someone forget torture?  abuse?  etc? It is my belief that memory is one of our integral rights and it seems they can even take that from us now at least on a biological level. I believe the soul or true self would retain inate knowledge if not the memory regardless of the applied drug. This is a very interesting discussion I hope to talk about if anyone else is interested.

I don't like it at all. First of all... of course I personally don't believe this drug can have any effect on anyone's soul. I believe our souls are untouchable. I'm trying to say that our soul will be infinite and overall safe, no matter what happens to our body or here on Earth. At least that is my personal belief. But I do believe that our body and soul has an interesting connection. I have been reading stuff on the "God spot" which is supposedly located in our pituitary gland. The God spot could be like an antennae almost where our brain and physical body picks up info. from the universe, God, our soul, etc.

My question is why is this being released to the public? Isn't this something extremely powerful? I mean why isn't the government using it as a weapon or something? I hate weapons and violence, not endorsing it, but the whole thing seems fishy. I would expect the gov. to keep something like this secret so they can use it as a weapon. I'm not a paranoid person, but I am realistic and let's face it the governments of the world are pretty corrupt.

Either way I can see why some people would believe its a good thing. Sometimes if we are seriously traumatized our mind actually DOES purposely forget it, but its not really forgotten, just stored away or we are just in denial. Either way I don't think it's a good thing. I don't think it should really be used. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I don't understand... imagine life without any bad memories... hmm.. scary actually isn't it?

Omg Why is everything or another thing leading to something known as The new world order. This concerns me as well. I'm pretty sure there are other ways to remove so called painful memorries.

MY concern is when powerful groups use this in our drinking water or as an aerosol to make massive crowds forget something huge they witness. Also if we do not have mistakes to learn from and remember we are doomed to repeat them. Personally I believe part of life is overcoming the bad and turning it into strengths and learning experiences. The first part of this paragraph may seem worst case scenario however if you can control what people remember you can control their outlook. They are saying this can actually target specific memories and I keep flashing back to the flashy thing on Men in Black.

Actually reading more about it it removes the emotional attachment to the memory which is one of the components that help us with long term memory they are still a while off prescribing it.
