Looks pretty neat iJodix.

I started watching and finished the first season of The Magicians on Netflix. Just want to say that there is a lot of sexual content and not all of it good in case you don't want to see that but I really felt inspired to push harder with my training because of it.

Potential problem: audience without prior experience in experimenting with pk may be traumatized. This might make the lives of legit pk practitioners more difficult.

True, in reality doing any kind of "horror" psychokinesis is meta physically impossible, as you will harm your brain long before you do any sensible movement. The cosmic energy that you use, that is omnipresent, is also alive in its own right and not some plaything to be able to toy around with.

I saw the movie last night, & I can guarantee that most Americans, at least would be laugh at the production, before violence ever bothered them. I think the filmmakers were making an homage to "Scanners" & "The Fury", from back when I was a kid (a loooong time ago), lol. Anyway it was pretty bad.

Maruthaja, correct me if I'm misunderstanding you, but I have to disagree with you on the inability to be violent with psychokinesis. Shaman; sorcerers, & martial artists have leveraged psychokinesis to violent ends for as long as humans have been around. In my own experience, I have found no ethical police force to inhibit me in any way. If you can heal someone; you can hurt them too. Power comes with awareness; a mature person hopefully moves with compassion over selfishness, but even selfishness can be a growing experience:)

The only two inhibitors that I have seen, are:

1. weak concentration skill

2. inability to process greater loads of energy when the practitioner fails to cultivate emptiness along with ecstatic energy

Well yeah violent actions are possible, but according to me I feel you can't do anything which the higher forces does not want you to do. Which is is why I think a long time ago everybody had access to this power and now only a hand full of people who can cultivate can do it. So in the past crazy things like Ramayana were going on where angels and devils would fight on earth. 

Of course with the ability to bless also comes the ability to curse. But I don't know, in my thought based psychikinesis, only my purest thoughts cause any motion, if I accidentally think of anything hurtful or negative, all the energy and motions slowly subsides and wanes away as all the good feelings in my head get slowly replaced by a head ache. 

 

I believe there is something called rghteous anger which should be used when the moment asks for it to protect the weak, as a lot of times also certain thoughts of rage can pick up the wind speed. But I think due to the presence of karmic barriers the dark side simply cannot exist.

Thus far I've gotten the impression that the higher forces are inherently neutral. They see things the way they are, without any labels such as "Good", "Bad" or "Pointless". I guess there is the metric of learning efficiency, though. Sometimes in order to learn at peak efficiency (or close to that), one has to endure unpleasant situations as well.

Karma and self-judgement seem to be the main guards. Going against one's own philosophy and ethics might be unhealthy. On the other hand, it could also be unhealthy to stick to specific philosophy or code of ethics. The problem is that empathical connections to people or creatures with different worldviews could create serious conflicts. I think it's important to learn how things work without active participation, by being detached and observing them from the distance.

The higher forces don't care as far as my experience has been. I have noticed though that the subconscious does do things against my conscious will. Perhaps Maruthaja you experience that because of this subconscious desire to not hurt anyone.

Interesting, this is all something I need to consider. But do you think it's possible that with enough focus, all the things in that movie can be possible?

For me it's not like the energy is black or white but in many varying shades of gray. But there is life force everywhere, when I have a particular thought I exude a particular energy. Some thoughts make the birds sing and the wind blow, other thoughts make the crows caw and the dogs bark. I don't know, when I meditate i suspend my thoughts where my opinions also change with the flow of the energy to allow more flow and create more wind speed. For me when something happens which I don't want, I consider it as the higher forces bumping me in a particular direction or as something I need to experience to understand the world more.

But still, you all make valid points, whose say where the limits are? of course karma makes sense.
