Locked in syndrome and an exploratory instructive dream I had about it.

First of all let me say that. I have only heard about this syndrome in passing. I know no one who has this and I have not heard aout this in a very long time. My dreams last night were instructive exloratory and offered some insight.

I wondered that if a locked in sufferer were able to apply the same projection of consciousness to their body parts as with stasis field psi wheel they could bypass the hard wiring of the nervous system completely.

Reading up on it this morning one of the causes can be damage by stroke to the Pons.

"The pons measures about 2.5 cm in length. Most of it appears as a broad anterior bulge rostral to the medulla. Posteriorly, it consists mainly of two pairs of thick stalks called cerebellar peduncles. They connect the cerebellum to the pons and midbrain.[3]

The pons contains nuclei that relay signals from the forebrain to the cerebellum, along with nuclei that deal primarily with sleep, respiration, swallowing, bladder control, hearing, equilibrium, taste, eye movement, facial expressions, facial sensation, and posture.[4]

Within the pons is the pneumotaxic center, a nucleus in the pons that regulates the change from inspiration to expiration.[5]

The pons also contains the sleep paralysis center of the brain as well as generating the dreams of REM sleep."   Its the dream generator? I found it interesting that I should be dreaming about the part of the brain connecteed with dreams. When I had only heard about this syndrom previous to this in passing.
