I didn't find a category on auras so here's one to start off techniques and a place to discuss progress for those training to view auras.
For those who aren't certain, an aura is an envelope of color or light surrounding your physical body thats expanding and contracting, changing hues according to your emotions, health and energy. Weak auras can be an indication of approaching death. Auras can help you identify negative and positive atmospheres in your surroundings and their sources. They can also help you become the source of more positivity for your own health and to give off more positive vibes to those around you. Those who train biotherapy are sensitive to viewing auras and can heal others through their auras.
Basic technique to begin viewing your aura based on Mark Smith's book AURAS See them in only 60 seconds!
How to View the Aura
Here's how you, too, can "see the light":
Stand the subject eighteen inches in front of a plain white background. Have the person relax and breathe deeply. For best viewing, you need to be at least ten feet away, and the lights should not be too bright or focused directly on the subject. Natural lighting is best. The technique to view the aura requires that you look past the head and shoulder area. Focus on the wall behind the figure. As you stare past the outline of the body, you will very quickly notice a fuzzy white or grayish silver envelope surrounding the body. It almost looks like a light is behind the person, pointing it up.
Then most probably it will disappear.
That is because the natural reaction of most people as they first see this envelope is to inadvertently change their focus to the person and not continue to stare at the wall. As soon as you go back to focusing on the background, the envelope will reappear. You must train your eye not to revert to normal focus-- that is the hardest thing to learn. Once you have mastered maintaining your gaze through the person you will notice that colors, shapes, rays and even secondary auric fields will be readily visable.
Seeing beyond the Envelope
It may take some time. Although I could see the envelope, or as some say, "Casper the friendly ghost," right away, it was three days before I saw colors--but what colors! Yelow or pink is first for most people, then blue, green, or purple. Some of you lucky ones will see color right away.
A few people I have trained never see any color, with the exception of yellow now and then, but everyone has at least seen the envelope. If you wear glasses, taking them off might help, although some students do better keeping them on. The type of light is also a controlling factor. Fluorescent light is the worst; natural indirect light is the best. Direct sunlight is too strong and will overpower and wash out the aura. Candlelight is very good, but be careful the candle does not cast shadows on the viewing background.
Try various subjects. Get them to breathe deeply and exhale fully. One hint: Have them recite the alphabet slowly, taking breaths after every two letters. Then speed up after the letter M, finishing all the rest of the letters without taking a breath, if possible.
You'll see a change in the aura as the breathing pattern changes. On some people, as they speed up, the aura will expand. If they are not breathing correctly, that is, shallowly, it will actually shrink. Breathing fully and deeply is the single most energizing exercize you can do. When the subject inhales, the aura should appear to shrink slightly, and when the subject exhales fully, it will appear to expand. If the subject's breathing pattern changes to shallow breathing, the aura may appear very weak and close to the body.
Another helpful hint: Have the subject rock gently from side to side. You will see the aura move with the person. Sometimes it stays right with the subject. You will see the aura move with the person. Sometimes it stays right with the subject, while with others it will lag behind. You might see a ball of color over one shoulder, or a strong, bright line of light down one arm. These may pulsate and then vanish.
Stand the subject eighteen inches to two feet in front of a bare white wall. Avoid walls with colors or patterns.
Use indirect lighting--natural ambient daylight, if possible. Avoid fluorescent light or direct sunlight.
View the subject from at least ten feet away.
Ask the subject to relax, breathe deeply, and rock gently from side to side with hands unclasped at his or her side.
Look past the subject's head and shoulders and focus on the wall behind him or her.
Avoid looking at the subject, concentrating instead on the texture of the paint or whatever surface is behind him or her.
As you look past the outline of the body, where the air starts and the body stops you will see a band of fuzzy light arround the subject about one-quarter inch to one-half inch in depth. This is the etheric aura.
COntinue to look past the outline of the body, and you should see the subject as if he or she is illuminated from behind, sometimes with a bright yellow or silver color. One side might glow more brightly or slowly pulsate. Auras rarely are uniform.
Each person is different. Some subjects will have less-visible auras than others, and every viewer will not always at first see colors. The fuzzy envelope or halo around the body will be discernible within a very short time--usually one minute or less.
Try using different subjects and experiment with lighting and background. Soon you will see a second, larger band of light three inches to two feet around the body. This is the astral aura. It is usually darker and more diffuse.
To See Your Own Aura
Stand in front of a mirror at least eighteen inches away, farther if possible.
Place yourself with a white or neutral color surface visible in the mirror behind you.
Relax, breathe deeply, and sway gently from side to side.
Focus on the texture of the surface of the wall behind you.
As you stare past the outline of your head and shoulders, you will see the envelope of light around your body move with you as you rock gently.
Remember to breathe as you do this, since you are now both viewer and subject.
Lighting should be subdued, neither too bright nor too dark. Experiment. Auras cannot be seen in total darkness, and bright light will wash out all but the most vibrant of auras.
COlor of clothing is unimportant. You might find that your auric color, when you become accustomed to seeing it, will clash with certain items in your wardrobe, but you will see your true colors regardless of what you wear.
Experiment with projecting a color. Think of a color and try to visualize it. You can change your base line color temporarily through this kind of exercise, and the change can be seen.
As you exhale, the aura should get larger. Reciting the numbers one through thirty in a normal speaking voice will help liberate your energy. Take a breath after every two numbers. Speed up the count from the number twenty on without taking a breath and watch your aura change in size and vibrancy. As you resume normal quiet breathing, the aura will return to its former size but might appear a little brighter.
Guide to illustration
Everyone can see the first etheric auric layer, which is closest to the body, and is usually the brightest. The second astral auric layer is farther away from the skin, and more diffuse. Be aware that the colors will change and blend together in these two fields, seldom having a distinct line of separation between them.
Color Chart
Purple

Thank you for posting this. I have a question though. What if you usually see is white light. I've been seeing & feeling whight light since last summer. I have mostly been a tactile person when it comes to energy, and can feel auras quie clearly. Though, the white light shows up & everything in this world slows down & seems like it's made of paper or something. I always wonder what others experience:)

Hmm. What objects did you see it around mainly? My referrence says:
"White represents pure energy or light. White color can develop due to new energy entering a persons aura. When this new aspect of the person takes on strength, color will develop. Like all new thoughts and energy, it has the potential to develop into the highest good in spiritual, physical and emotional realms. If this color emerges from a person of high virtue, it is likely the result of pure energies representing the highest of truths."
But it's strange that you've been seeing white light for nearly a year now, so that pretty much takes out the possibility of your vision being fresh to auras or new energy entering your aura. I suppose it's really pure energy that you're seeing then. I'm not surprised, your energy level is very high owl12. But what do you mean the white light shows up and the world slows down? It sounds to me like an event within your energy body as a result of entrainment or excess energy that enables you to experience something like that.
I'll post detailed descriptions of my vision of auras once I begin to see them more clearly. Today being my first day noticing what my aura was, I realized I had been seeing auras ever since I was a little kid but not realizing what they were and eventually becoming blind to them.
I have never really trained aura viewing, but as is discussed in the second video; I do see energy in the air & reality distortions. This has improved my PK a great deal, & I think the descriptions in the videos are pretty easy to follow:)

The entopic phenomenon is a normal phenomenon that some people may become suddenly aware of. This sudden awareness may lead to the idea that there is a problem with the eyes, when actually there is not. The entopic phenomenon can be seen especially when looking at a bright blue sky. Small, rapid pin-point sparks of light can be seen darting about in the central vision. Some people may think that these sparks are floaters. In reality, they represent white blood cells moving through the blood capillaries of the retina. This is a normal finding, and actually may indicate normal retinal function. There is no failure only feedback. Failure is when you stop trying.
Usually when I focus on the feeling of "I am" in the surroundings, I start seeing yellow light being emitted from everywhere. Sometimes the sun then comes out and kind of materializes it. With this yellow light, it feels as if I was looking at myself from top-down or something (can feel the surroundings a lot better).
Haven't seen the white light yet though.
@Shirak: Have you found anything on seeing shadowy blurbs moving around?
When I focus on a point in the sky, I start seeing dark blurbs rushing into the point. This seems to hint at some physical eye phenomena. However, sometimes I see similar things racing across the floor or flying over the sky without moving my eyes at all. They usually move pretty quickly.

Today I was walking along the dock at the lake near my home, when I noticed my shadow on the water. There seemed to be lines radiating outward and a circular yellow or golden glow, so took this pic with my less than ideal camera phone.
If I have time today and the sun is shining, I will take a piece of cardboard or something and see if I can duplicate the effect using an inanimate object. I will also use the same camera phone and a different camera as well.
Not sure if it is the Corona Effect, it could have just been the Sun directly behind me like an eclipse. I did notice that there seemed to be energy swarming on the water all around the circular area, but when I moved closer to the edge into shallower water the effect went away.
About that energy swarming on the water, there is an interesting video here where the guy does that directly on the water. Start watching from 2:00 minutes on because its not really conclusive before that. Its a very very interesting effect
That was an interesting video, although I couldn't see the effect very well because the camera guy did not have a good angle. I did go back and take some pics, but it is windier today and the water is rougher. I also tried using a piece of cardboard, but it is not definitive because I was holding the cardboard using a short wooden dowel.
Have you tried watching it in 720p? At least here in that video resolution and after 3:00 min in the video its very very easy to see the effect. At 360 and 480 its harder.
the water thing looks nearly like pulsing , i have noticed a similar effect on rising smoke where it creates regular waves with spirals on the ends , cool picture seriousknot

Well I guess she is the real X-men/Meta-human lol! Seriously, I don´t get how there are sceptics that can be SO st*pid. Here > http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1903012/pg3#31862431 There were people trying to say that this is bull****, by using the argument "How do they now, that, did they cound it one by one?". Oh my god, I couldn´t resist, so I posted an answer there (the 6/22/2012 message from Brazil). I know it hasn´t much to do with the forum here, but I was so impressed by it I couldn´t resist!
