Me too. America's always been structured on the basis of mind control and I have no doubt the government will attempt to use this new found research to add to their tools of the trade. I feel like there is a limit however on how much they can control. They can make you want to do something, for example through advertising clothes, food, sex, drugs people will want more of these such things. But your free will gets the final say in what you actually do. These light triggered cells cannot overtake the mind entirely, if anything it's like a traffic signal indicating you to move in a direction. Remember that animals dont have free will, they act on instinct.
I agree with both of you. There might be a chance that the "blue light" might mutate the DNA. Who knows what might happen then... maybe people are born without that part of the brain.
