I have a very demanding carreer path and have stopped using psionics/magick/whatever other term you want to use to identify the latent abilities dormant in man. Since stopping it seems I've had a lot of trouble in my personal life. In just the past week alone I was in an awful car accident that could've taken my girlfriend's life. On top of that there was also an awful fire at my house that could've potentially claimed lives as well. Is this some sort of karma? I mean I did use the majority of my abilities for self serving purposes. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I thought karma was a load of crap and that I was above it. Maybe it's possible since not practicing, the material world now has more sway over me?
That's pretty intense stuff. I think it's more of an "awareness" question, rather than karma. I can talk for myself that if i lower awareness, more unexpected things happen (logical). I mean, deaths, sickness... what do they all got in common? Loss of awareness.
Karma is somewhat true. You do good, they'll do good back. You do bad, they are likely to do bad. So maybe You are doing this to Yourself (geisting perhaps?)?
Maybe re-analyzing the moments reveal something that you didn't notice?

I observe that bad things happen to good people all the time, & good things happen bad people all the time. Good...bad; who defines it? I believe that "karma", is really just the outflow of thought, & that people tend to get what they think about or focus on. As with a game of chess, or a stone tossed into a pond; thoughts are a cause to rippling effects, but the causes & effects, have no power without your attention. Is one chess player good, & another bad? It honestly seems pretty subjective & arbitrary to me.
I think you should live your life man, & try to greet the ups & downs of life with a smile. All phenomena are perishable; life will always be up & down...in & out like capricious faeries.
To quote Hamlet, " There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

I agree with Alar, when my training takes a back seat my present moment awareness is not as keen I slip back into moments which could have been prevented.
