You'll probably act like you don't see this but if you could describe your take on the appearance of "the connections of the stars" that might be useful for discernment aww .

Either way to me this stuff seems relative enough to where it doesn't mean more than other relative things aww .

Edit: I would like to apologize for the limited thinking I typed that comment from. I was reminded of pk implications of the expression I consider most impressive, "So in everything do to others as you would have them do to you. For this sums up the law and the profits.".

Thanks O12 I prefer first hand accounts like yours to derivative texts which can be romanticized. I have attained a state where I could see the pulse of the universe and all the connections of the stars. It was so awe inspiring though I could try and explain it I don't think in my present state I could. The level of understanding was expanded there are not enough words to explain.

I know what you mean about difficulty explaining. There are many experiences which I don't put in my journal, because language seems to cheapen the experiences:)

Samadhi and OBE's are not the same as has been said. The state of Samadhi is Enlightenment and is the only thing worth attaining. I actually played around with OBE's when I was younger but it never brought me to where I remembered so I abandoned it.

You can say that from the perspective of the mind that you are not in Samadhi but in truth you always are. It is just that this "mind" seemingly covers it, but it makes no sense. How can a drop of water cover the ocean? This is the same idea with your mind and the Infinite; how can the atomic cover up the Infinite?

Enlightenment comes about when the mind is stilled to a point where the Infinite is able to be realized. You work yourself to this by developing detachment from objects and events. You remove the idea of being, for example Yogananda said "God is all that dwells here now, Yogananada was killed off long ago".

I don't know what Samadhi is. I have had this experience once where I felt... Well it wasn't just felt or thinking maybe a state of being. I remember feeling so depressed and just awful I got in my bed and pulled my blanket over my head. The TV was on but I wasn't paying attention to it. My emotions became so overwhelming and I don't know how to describe what happened next. I told someone else about it and the word used to describe it was surrendered or something like that. I felt, no I was moving with what was around me. I can't even use the words see, felt, or think because it seemed like something beyond that. Perhaps, it was what I mentioned before, a state of being. Even though, I was not looking at the TV I could sense or perhaps I can use the word see (don't know another word to describe it) what was going. It was moving and shifting with me along with everything else around me. Someone else I told about it also described it as "one with everything", it did not last too long, even though time didn't seem to matter, when I was experiencing it. An amazing experience that I think one day I will be able to 'be in' again.

I personally, do not think there is one way to "get there" or a "one size fits all" resolve to reaching it.

As far as how powerful, don't get me wrong, I am interested in human potential and grasping the limitlessness of it. But, the more I am, can I say growing or developing the more I seem to be interested in a personal sense of inner peace.

How quickly do you pass through these states? Is all 8 of these in one go, or over a period of progression? I'm assuming it's the latter, but I wont know until I ask :)

Not all grow at the same rate, like with everything else. I have been up to the fifth jhana so far, but it didn't happen all at once. It was hard to let go of the first jhana for a long time. After that it became easier to move to the next consistently:)

It's not really necessary to believe, when you can verify through direct testing. Just keep developing stronger concentration, & see what happens:)

Be careful what you ask for. My house caught fire due to my PKE - not realizing that I have the ability. I'm here to learn to control and diminish the outbursts I create. Another house fire and our insurance will have to cancel us. As it stands, I'm paying $300 more a year with a total rebuild (for 4 yrs) and frankly we can't afford big accidents.

I don't think suppressing pk is the way to go.

Wouldn't it be even better to learn to control pk and fix all the broken stuff with pk as well? ;)

I realized when I began meditation of concentration that this was what I was lacking, with out concentration all phenomenon becomes a problem. Concentration is not the skill that allows us to become that of superpowers but finally opens us to it and the realization that these things are reality and are not just freak cases. Those who are born with natural abilities are given these "gifts / curses " with a lack of concentration or knowledge of what they have. So by building the mind and bringing it back to a concentration base will allow us to use these mind powers in a better way. However! I find this true to my self and in all honesty I might be 100 percent wrong this is just my paradigm.

shirak, you might want to try laying your computer on a leather book when doing any PK with or around your computer. I have had this one for about 7 or 8 years now. Sometimes I think that my energy is the only thing keeping it going. lol :D

I agree with you, I think the awareness of our gift helps us to accept it and concentration helps with mitigating damages. I've always said, be careful what you wish for, it just may come true. Although its hard to control wants, desires and outcomes it is a balancing act for sure. Years I went numb so I didn't have to deal with my gifts, then there was ignoring it all. That didn't work either. When I finally came around to acceptance, all hell broke lose. Now educating myself and putting limits on expectations seems to help the most. Although I still have a tendency to ignore what I know I need to do, at least I know now its procrastination and not trying to block it all out or blaming only the spirits on what goes on. Reality is something else, yeah?

Reality is a perception of what you see, from the research I have done through spiritual learning. I have found that reality is that of the person. This is why even twins see the world differently and is why they affect and effect others around them differently. I can tell when someone will die and who will pass first, I use to think when I saw spirits someone will die because I saw a spirit one night and it would not leave me alone... few days later I found out my sister was murdered that night I saw it. Was it my sister I do not know, all I know is things we see are real because we see them. Someone who is crazy doesn't realize they are crazy because that is their reality! However when people who are typically social or sane minded, begin to have different insight or their mind begins to change. They believe they are going insane... because what they once saw has been altered.

To me meditation has helped me strengthen my own mind and I choose not to convince any one. This is how my life has been and how I choose to see the world. If you read my journal you can see how negative I was just 2 years ago and compared to now. I am not where close to that of someone of strong spiritual or begging of spiritual cultivation but it has opened my eyes.
