Overtraining


I don't know about you, but I *LOVE* meditating and can easily spend many hours doing it. However, this is adversely affecting my pk progress. I keep a journal and I noticed I was way, way stronger when I only practiced for an hour rather than 2-3. In fact I feel like I'm losing effectiveness/power by doing it so much.

I'm going to try including breaks and reducing my total time per day to 1.5 hrs split between the morning and evening. I'll see if things are different.

When You say meditating; what do you mean by that?  Many people people think that meditation means relaxing & zoning out, but this is not the case. Meditation should make your PK stronger, rather than weaker. When I say meditation, I am talking about either insight meditation, or concentration.

Insight meditation, involves allowing thoughts related to conceptual reality arise & pass by, without grasping hold of them, in order to gain wisdom to see ultimate reality, or reality as it is without your conditioned overlay. Insight meditation is good for enlightenment, but most people don't have a strong enough mind for the practice. Concentration, helps to develop that mental strength:)

Concentration, which is what you want to practice for developing mind powers, involves resting your attention on an object, & then bringing your mind back to the object when it wonders.

In either style of meditation, you should be highly alert & developing your awareness. Remember, Buddha, means awakened one; most people are asleep. The delusions of waking life, are equivalent to REM dreams.

Unless you are a master, the actual meditation doesn't usually happen right away. For instance, when you 1st start concentrating on an object, your mind will wonder a lot relative to your experience as a practitioner. The actual meditation is only achieved once your mind has settled. This is often called access concentration; a state when it can feel like you are in a bubble & are only aware of your self & the object. Then you eventually pass into a state where you loose awareness of the physical & ego self, & are only aware of the object; you become the object of concentration. This is the beginning stage of samadhi, & you are crossing over into Omnipotence; omniscience, & omnipresence. By definition, you are realizing more power:)

Hi Owl :),

Thank you for posting, I appreciate it as always. Here's my current err... meditation.. :) regiment:

1 X Awaken Magick (just a wiccan thing that I've found to be very effective in waking up my third eye)

1 X chakra sensing/chakra rotation

(that's about 20 minutes)

Then I do PK for about 1.5 - 2 hours, sometimes longer, sometimes less or until my third eye feels like it's burning/there is pain. I'm also going to add sodarshan chakra kriya because it is extremely effective in many things:

That's currently what I'm doing and it's very disheartening when I grow weaker EXPONENTIALLY daily by practicing more. I like your insights though, and I can absolutely say that my concentration needs drastic improvement, however I do know that my regiment has improved it daily, especially the pranayamic breathings. I'll try to focus more and prevent wandering thoughts (which do chatter away as always) more proactively. Thank you. Any thoughts on what I'm currently doing?

Hey, I went through the same thing before and it is quite simple to remedy.

Take a break.

Like your muscles need time to heal after going to the gym your spiritual system (Whatever you want to call it) needs to do something similar.

Also and key, you do not have much stored energy. It is like pouring 5$ worth of gas into a car once a day but trying to drive for 10$ worth. Your body builds up energy through meditation when the mind is completely silent and your perception changes.

The meditation bit is very easy after some practice. Simply clear the mind and stay in that state, simple as that. Do not think of anything and eventually you will forget about the body and mind. You will cease to exist as a separate being and become enlightened.

Perception is changed over time and is the only difference between say, Jesus and yourself. Jesus changed his mind to perceive the Self. You have not done this and so you are not enlightened, simple.

is an amazing book to change your perception to gain more energy.

Is another key book towards realizing your goals.

If you acquire these two books and study them earnestly you will go beyond the need to even meditate for your perception will change. Everything in spiritual practice from meditation to tantric sex is meant to alter the perception.

You seem to be dedicated and so I will give you a schedule I would follow myself.


*Stop Masturbating, Sex with the opposite sex is Fine to do for there is a mutual energy exchange.

1. Meditate morning and night for 15 minutes to whatever is comfortable for you.
2. Pray to become great at what you desire
3. Study Vasistha`s Yoga for an hour
4. Practice Psychokinesis for 15 minutes to whatever is Comfortable. As well if you notice worse performance from the day prior stop practicing for 2 or 3 days and meditate and study for this time instead.
5. Speak to like minded people and avoid negativity and things that will take you from your goal.
6. do a 40 day sadanah with the goal in mind. To do this is simple, just do an action every day for 40 days without fail. It is like getting a wish granted.

That is all I am going to write out for now. Double check what I have wrote with multiple sources to confirm what I have said is true and if you have any doubts or second guesses to what I have said bring it up to me and I will do my best to fix the issue.

Thinking is creating. Non thinking or meditative state builds creative potential. Often a side effect of not addressing or thinking through a stressful problem creates creative potential which releases as a geist. When I say non thinking what I mean is being in the observer just being state. In that state connections to "external" energy occur. (Which is really just you observing that the "external" energy is actually connected to you.
Sleep is important to. It in a way for me resets the "karmic" buildup of the day or hour before and allows me to observe from a fresh perspective.

Yeah, proper sleep makes a huge difference for me. Relaxed focus is very difficult, when You are tired. Though, just like physical training; pushing my limits has been important as well:)

Hey guys, I just wanted to update you: yep - took a few days off and my powers grew, despite my drinking behaviors, etc... YES I can say without a DOUBT that practicing too much every day (pk, not meditation) has an adverse effect on your strength. Tomorrow and the next day are my break days - I'm just going to do ujjayi, chakra sensing and awaken my magick and that's it.

Also, I found that cardio exercises helps to increase pk power dramatically, but it also reduces the amount of available energy you have. Right now I feel completely drained and hollow. I know I need to rest - BIGTIME before my next big push. I hope to get to a level where I can practice every day as much as I want because I really love doing it.

Also, I really want to thank Joshua - I completely stopped sexual activity of ANY type and I feel like I recover much, much better in my practices. In fact this he is the third person to tell me this but I never took it so seriously before I saw the results for myself.
