The Atticus Institute

So I wanted to start a thread to discuss this mocumentary movie for those who have seen it.

Overall it takes place in the 70s one of the pk renaissance decades. It follows the typical it must be a demon for it to be real pk which of course I disagree with. The experiments employed and many of the geists the main pker employs are similar to that which I have experienced. Part of me wants the stereo type of geist = demon to be moved past but part of me treated the following events in the movie as a thought experiment.

Many of the geists and techniques are reminiscent of what I have heard others describe on this forum so wanted to share.

I've been on the fence of watching it for the last few days for the reasons you've mentioned, but I will check it out today. I know a Poltergeist remake is coming out soon, & I was equally disappointed that they haven't updated the definitions at all. Still though, it will be worth the watch if it accurately demonstrates the phenomenon of geisting & feelings involved:)

I'm annoyed. Yet another movie making geisters like us look scary and evil. It's not really what I need. The media has a huge impact on the way people think. I saw a video posted in a empath group on facebook. This guy in a convenience store has a seizure and geisted some stuff off the shelf. Everyone said he was possessed by demons, and the psychokinesis was evidence of that. I didn't bother trying to argue with them, because I have before and people believe what they want to believe. For some reason, they don't want to listen to the truth. I've seen it in other psychokinesis videos too. I myself have been the subject of harassment by religious people the first half of my life, telling me I must be messing around with the occult, and I have demons around me. It's so freeing to just walk away from that kind of thinking. I think movies like these make people scared of us more than they already are, even if they don't think it does, it gets into their subconscious.

I agree with you shy :) but I also think that it affects you on some level too and than there is the big down-side: I personally find this stuff demotivating, dont you people? I mean I would rather watch a chriss zannetti video than a crappy horror...It takes away my passion for fantasy :D guess its just me though

I also agree with shy. I have watched so many horror movies when I was smaller .. they somehow seem to lack the intelligence (as do most of the movies out there).
