Hello Everyone!

Hi all,

I found this forum through a friend who suggested that I come bounce some ideas around and see what you all think. My understanding of psi-phenomena is informed largely by Tom Campbell's ('TC Physicist' from Bob Monroe's Far JourneysMy Big TOE as well as my own (somewhat limited) experience. I'm curious if any of you are familiar with Tom's work, and what your thoughts on it are. His theory, in my opinion, offers the best explanation of both physical and non-physical reality, unifying science and spirituality under a single understanding. If anyone wants a brief explanation, I can do my best to sum it up.

His book is available for free on Google Books.

Here are a few links to his workshops that give a good overview of his material:

MBT NYC 5 part series

MBT Calgary Workshop

I hope this doesn't come across as me trying to push a particular perspective. I'm just as eager to learn from you all as I am to share my thoughts. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and discussing how his material meshes with the material discussed on this board.

Welcome to the forum:)

I'm actually a big fan of Tom, & My Big TOE. I posted a lot of his video on the forum over the years.

Oh, awesome! Do you find his model to be consistent with your experience? Do you have any critiques of his work or areas where you disagree? I have to admit I'm a little surprised to hear that his work is highly regarded here, due to his general attitude towards psi phenomena; that they're not particularly important or useful in the "big picture," and focusing on them rather than entropy reduction (becoming love, dropping fear/ego) is "beside the point," to some extent. I don't necessarily share that view, but I'm curious if you can elaborate on your perspective on that aspect of his work.

Thanks!

I've studied tantric Taoism & Buddhism for for about 30 years or so, but also come from a family where psi talent was high. Most of what Tom, talks about matches my life experience & understanding. I don't focus as much on lowering entropy as I do concentration & somatic meditation, but I also don't disagree. I would say though that it's up to the individual to decide for themselves what is or isn't worth their time; meaning is life is 100% subjective. Also, how one goes about lowering entropy, is also subjective.

For some, pursuit of mind powers can entrench the ego, but for others it can help to lower their entropy. it really depend on how you approach it & the realizations you have on the way:)
